Lincoln Navigator, a full-size SUV.

Lincoln Navigator

The navigator is a full-size SUV representing Lincoln. It first appeared in 1998 and pioneered high-end SUV segments in the U.S. and set the stage for latecomers such as Cadillac Escalade to grow the market. The first generation shared a large number of frameworks and components with Ford Expedition. It also made a strong first impression on consumers by adding eight-cylinder large-emission engines. The second generation, which was introduced in 2002, raised the value of the car by surrounding it with a larger body, a bold design and high-end materials. Actual sales have also increased significantly, and it is an opportunity to establish the identity of the car.

The third generation, which was released in 2006, threatened its rivals with its unconventional appearance. Huge lamps, wheels, and vertically falling trunks caught the eye and revealed the role of the oldest brother by applying the Lincoln Family-Look. It has also become an efficient car that fits the trend of the times such as eco-boost engines and 6-speed automatic transmissions.

And finally, in 2018, the fourth generation navigator appeared. It features many elements of concept cars introduced at the 2016 New York Motor Show, and has redefined the U.S. luxury SUV area by increasing the scope of application of new technologies. In addition, the trend of big cars is continuing to be more aggressive in line with the current trend. I faced the car in person to find out its true value.

The appearance is overwhelming. In fact, the navigator is 5,335mm long and 2,075mm wide and 1,940mm high, respectively, showing the largest size among large SUVs. Parts that make up the exterior are also large. Neat headlamps are larger than the size of notebooks. Two lines of daytime running lights and baseball-sized lights also make a strong impression.

The square-shaped grill is colorful. The pattern of Lincoln logo, the emblem with subtle lighting, and the surrounding chrome are high-end cars. Bumper is relatively calm. He didn’t give any flexion or show any technique, and he finished it neatly.

The side emphasizes its existence through thick character lines based on its high body and ride height. In particular, if you look at a square window extending up to the third row, you will automatically be amazed. Navigators lettering attached to fenders, 22-inch wheels with tight flesh, and power-operated stabilizers that are unified with body colors are enough to boost owner’s pride.

The back is a good representation of the navigator’s identity. Tail lamps that are connected horizontally can be opened separately in the shape of trapezoidal rear windows with thick lines compared to cars these days. The Lincoln lettering attached to the center is thinner than I thought and the car is so big that the license plate looks small.

The interior has a strong classic feel. This is due to the layout that emphasizes the wood and straight lines of cherry color. In particular, Chrome, which is wrapped around buttons and panels, boldly expresses luxury senses. Full digital instruments and Lincoln’s intelligent infotainment system are impeccable. The latest Atlan navigation was also much easier to handle and more interlinkable, making it satisfying.토토사이트

On the other hand, the center fascia monitor is somewhat disappointing. It’s not a wide screen but a protruding one, so it feels a bit old-fashioned. The same is true of steering wheel buttons. Compared to the diameter, there are many and small sizes, so it is hard to reach. I miss the aviator steering wheel under one weight class armed with subtle lighting.
