HYBE’s global fandom life platform Weverse will broadcast some of the stages of the U.S. large music festival “LOLLAPALOZA” live for free.
According to Weverse on the 28th, the platform will present free performances by the group TXT and J-Hope, a member of the global super group BTS (BTS), at Lollapalooza in Chicago from the 28th to the 31st.
Video live technology ‘Weverse Live’ is used. Weverse provides live broadcasts outside the U.S. and is broadcast live through the streaming service “Hulu” in the U.S.
Lola Fallujah is a large outdoor music festival with a 30-year history. The cast included Beatles-born Paul McCartney, Metallica, and Coldplay.
This year, a large number of large musicians, including J-Hope and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, will appear. Metallica and Lil Baby will appear on the first day, and Dua Lipa and Machine Gun Kelly will appear on the 29th. On the 30th, J-Call and Kaygo are the main cast members. TOMORROW X TOGETHER is a subheadliner. J-Hope is a headliner on the last day. Along with him, Green Day and The Kid Laroy are also leading actors.
TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s performance will be held from 9:45 am Korean time on the 31st. The j-hope performance, which will mark the finale of Lola Fallujah, will be held from 11 a.m. on August 1.
YouTube has been the main platform for broadcasting performances so far, with YouTube in charge of online broadcasting of the large U.S. music festival “Coachella Belly Music and Arts Festival” held in April.
Weverse said, “We will show the expansion as a large-scale offline performance relay platform based on streaming technology beyond sharing daily lives between artists and fans through the live broadcast of the Lollapalooza performance.”
It will also provide a live time machine function and a real-time chat function that allows fans who access later than the start time of the live to enjoy the performance from the first screen.
