The original TVing series “Body Price” opened a new history of K-content by winning the Screenplay Award at the Cannes Series for the first time in Korea’s OTT

The original TVing series “The Cost of a Body” won the award for best screenplay in the competition category at the closing ceremony of the 6th Cannes International Series Festival held at the Cannes Lumiere Grand Theater in France on the 19th (local time).

As a result, “Body Price” marked a new history of winning the Cannes series for the first time in a Korean drama and the first domestic OTT original series. Tving once again proved the competitiveness of the original domestic OTT series and the potential for global box office success by winning the Cannes Series feature competition category of “Body Price.”

Director Jeon Woo-sung, who took the podium to win the screenplay award, said, “The price of the body has a very unique concept, and I am honored that you recognized and invited me.” Thank you so much for giving us this award. [Joint script writer] Byungyoon and Jaemin! We did it!” he said.

“Body Cost” drew attention early on as the only K content among the invited works in the competition section of this year’s Cannes series. At the official screening held at the Cannes Lumiere Grand Theater in France on the 16th (local time), the 2,300-seat audience gave a standing ovation and praised the work for about three minutes.

“We are very happy to continue the K-content syndrome by winning the Cannes Series competition category for the first time as a Korean OTT and the first Korean drama,” a TVing official said. “We will do our best to promote the competitiveness of TVing contents.”

The original TVing series “Body Price” is a thriller that unfolds when a major earthquake hits a building where bargaining for “Body Price” was taking place for each reason. Director Lee Choong-hyun’s original short film’s unconventional directing, immersive one-take filming, and actors such as Jin Sun-kyu, Jeon Jong-seo, and Jang Ryul made a sensation by recording the highest number of viewers UV as of the first week of release in October last year. It’s a partnership work between Tving and Paramount+, which is set to be released globally through Paramount+ this summer
